Frequently Asked Questions

When do I register for next season and do I need to bring anything?

All registrations are now completed online through my.netball.com.au, and are generally open from mid January till early February. We do have a meeting day to assist anyone having trouble with online registration and this is generally held on the first weekend of Feb at the Davistown RSL club. If you are new to the club we will need a committee member to sight your birth certificate and arrange for a digital photo of you to be taken to stay in accordance with GNA policy. Preferred
method of payment is Cash, Cheque or Online Payments.

Do I need to attend grading day?

Grading days will vary each year, depending of divisions, number of teams in each division etc. You will be advised of the day and time, should you need to attend a grading day.

NetSetGo and players in under 7’s & 8’s do not attend a grading day. Seniors grading is decided on a year upon year basis, depending on numbers.

Do you have set training days?

The day and time of training days are dependent on the availability of each coach and the majority of the players in the team. The day and time for training is organised at the beginning of each season. Generally training is at Adcock Park and it is well lit in the darker months.

How do we know if a game has been cancelled due to rain?

Unless the weather is severe, and has not been cancelled as yet… you will be required to turn up to the courts.

The Davistown Netball Club Website and Facebook page will have details as soon as were are made aware of a cancelled game. Cancellation is decided by Gosford Netball Association and it will also be posted on their Facebook page.

Wet Weather text message service: Send “NET GNA WET” to 19787787 (cost 55c) and you will receive a return sms with the GNA message. For more information on this SMS service please call 1300 464 866.

You can also listen to 2GO or Sea FM for the latest cancellation updates.

Can I wear earrings on court? What jewelry can be worn?

Unfortunately you are unable to wear earrings or any jewelry on court whilst playing netball. You can no longer tape your ears either due to Health and Safety regulations. If earrings are worn and get accidentally ripped out – it is on the umpire and the club, and legal action – whilst unlikely is a real possibility. You may tape your wedding band and medical bracelet if you are unable to take them off for the game.

Where can I obtain my team's draw from?

Ask your coach or manager, they will be happy to assist you. Otherwise you can look at your team draw by going to the GNA website into competitions or go to my http://my.netball.com.au/ to find the draw for your team.

What is the best payment method for Fees?

Often it is best that club fees are paid on registration day at Davistown RSL. There is an ATM as we are a cash or cheque only facility on the day. You can also pay by online transfer. To obtain these details contain our club treasurer for the BSB details.

We do understand however, that paying the full amount on registration day is not always feasible. Players have until the commencement of the netball season to have paid their fees.

Please note that if fees are not paid by Round 3 of the season commencing the player will note be able to take the court until payment is made. We are happy to arrange payment plans for those require assistance. Please speak to a member of our committee to arrange this.

I would like to get involved with netball, who should I speak to?

All emails should be forwarded to our Club Secretary. We welcome all new players and members to our netball community.

I would like to purchase a new uniform, jumper, bag etc. How much are they and how can I buy one?

All information regarding our uniforms is available on the website. Alternatively you can contact davouniforms@gmail.com .
